Fencing the goat pasture. we wanted the goats to have some room to run around, so we fenced in just over 1/4 acre.we needed to have a couple of access points, both for us, and for the tractor to drive through the pasture, so we included 2 – 4 ft. gates, and 2 – 10 ft. gates.. we had bought a used hydraulic post-pounder last year, so we had to figure out how it worked for this project!. That said, goat shelter doesn't need to be elaborate. a hoop house can provide enough shelter for goats. and during the grazing season, trees or windbreaks, a three-sided shed, or a pole barn with just a roof may be enough for your goats. just keeping them out of drafts is enough..small goat barns for sale The very first big windstorm came only a week after we built the house, and it blew the goat house over, leaving two very surprised (and wet) goats standing in the storm at 2 a.m. we have since reoriented the house so the wind can’t blow in the door (which is what caused it to tip) and chained the skids to the ground using heavy screw-in stakes.. We built the cutest little goat barn (see our post, building the goat barn). however, cute does not necessarily translate to sturdy!although most elements in our barn design are standing up well to our bouncy little goats, there were a few things that just didn’t work out.. every day we are learning a little more about what works for our goats, and what doesn’t..
